GLAMPING FAQs

Q:  What are the Check-in and Check-out times?

A:  Check-in starts at 3pm on arrival day. Check-out is no later than 11am on departure day.

Q:  What’s included in my Glampsite?

A:  This isn’t how you remember camping!  We have waterproof canvas tents with a floor, rugs, beds, sheets and blankets, chairs, lighting, electricity outlets for charging your devices, Keurig coffee maker with Keurig pods and Prairie Fireflies coffee mugs (available for purchase), and mini fridge. We have a basic outdoor cooking set for you to use as well as plates/utensils. Outside your tent, you have a sitting area with lake views, a wood fire ring, picnic table, outdoor chairs (2 outdoor chairs for the Bell tent; 4 outdoor chairs for the Safari ten) and string lights. The Safari tent even has a hammock swing on the shaded porch.

Q:  What's your cancellation policy?

A:  You can cancel 14 days prior to arrival to receive a refund of your deposit. We are happy to search for other availability within the glamping season and apply your deposit to new dates. Date changes must be requested no later than 2 days prior to arrival and are based upon availability. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival are fully nonrefundable. Early departures or no shows will still be chargeable at their full rate. We do not make weather related exceptions.

Q:  What activities are included in our glampsite booking?

A:  We offer complimentary corn hole and paddle ball sets in the tent for you to use. We also stock the tents with cards, games and books for our guests to enjoy free during their stay.  

 

Q:  Is there food for purchase?

A:  YES! We make eating well during your glamping stay easy with our pre-made foil meals. Just cook them over the fire and enjoy!  See all the food options our website HERE.  You can add them to your reservation or contact us directly.

Q:  Can I add food or extras later?

A: YES! You can anything at any time (food requires 24hr notice).  You can just book it separately on the website (we link it with your reservation in the background) or contact us.

 

Q:  Does the glampsite come with wood for a fire or is that something we would need to bring on our own? 

A:  YES! We provide one bundle firewood to get you started.  You are welcome to bring more of your own.  To inquire about purchasing additional firewood during your stay, please visit with the Camp Host.

 

Q:  Is there a grilling/cooking area? 

A:  Your glampsite does have a fire ring with a grate for your use.  Fires and coals must be doused and properly disposed of before you leave the site.  BBQ grills (charcoal and propane) are allowed and must be a minimum of 24” off the ground. Grills are not allowed on picnic tables. 

Q:  What about the hot/cold weather?

A: We offer heaters and electric blankets for cold weather and air conditioners for warm weather, although it's important to note that this is still a tent with a canvas exterior. The heating and cooling provided will only provide moderate relief and cannot match the efficiency of your home's HVAC system. During the summer months, we suggest keeping the doors and windows closed while the air conditioning is on and opening the canvas doors at night to enjoy the refreshing summer breeze. In colder weather, remember to bring warm clothing to stay comfortable.

Q:  What if it rains?

A:  We do not make weather-related exceptions to reservations. Regardless of the weather forecast, we uphold all reservations as planned. We encourage you to plan and prepare for your stay with this in mind, embracing the adventure that nature may bring. Our tents are designed to withstand mild weather conditions, and our amenities ensure you have an enjoyable stay even during varying weather.

Q:  Are pets allowed?

A:  Your furry family members are welcome in our tents! Just let us know ahead of time. There is a $35.00 Pet Cleaning Fee that is charged for each pet if we are notified ahead of time. (You need to add this when you are making your reservation or we can add it later for you.)  Failure to do so will result in a $150.00 fine. Pets shall not be left unattended in any Prairie Fireflies accommodation unless properly crated. The guest is financially responsible for all damage caused by their pets.  

Q:  Is smoking allowed?

A:  There is no smoking allowed in our tents.  There will be a $400.00 fee charged if a guest or visitor smokes or vapes any substance inside any of our structures.

Q:  How do I dispose of trash?

A:  Please place all garbage in designated dumpsters located around the park or take it with you when you leave.  Please keep your campsite and lake clean by cleaning up litter.
