GLAMPING FAQs
Q: What’s included in my Glampsite?
A: This isn’t how you remember camping! We have waterproof canvas tents with a floor, rugs, beds, sheets and blankets, chairs, lighting, electricity outlets for charging your devices, Keurig coffee maker with Keurig pods and Prairie Fireflies coffee mugs (available for purchase), and mini fridge. We have a basic outdoor cooking set for you to use as well as plates/utensils. Outside your tent, you have a sitting area with lake views, a wood fire ring, picnic table, outdoor chairs (2 outdoor chairs for the Bell tent; 4 outdoor chairs for the Safari ten) and string lights.
Q: What is the bathroom situation?
A: The West C campground has one restroom/shower facility that is about 150 yards from your glampsite. The newly renovated bathroom is maintained by Lake Cunningham staff and includes two restroom stalls and one shower available for use on both the men’s and women’s sides. Showers are $1.00 (in quarters).
Q: What activities are included in our glampsite booking?
A: We offer complimentary Disc Golf, corn hole and paddle ball sets in the tent for you to use. We also stock the tents with cards, games and books for our guests to enjoy free during their stay.
Q: Are there recreation rentals such as kayak or paddle boards?
A: YES! You can rent a Kayak or SUP from us. Just add it to your reservation during booking or contact us.
Q: Is there food for purchase?
A: YES! We make eating well during your glamping stay easy with our pre-made foil meals. Just cook them over the fire and enjoy! See all the food options our website HERE. You can add them to your reservation or contact us directly.
Q: Does the glampsite come with wood for a fire or is that something we would need to bring on our own?
A: YES! We provide one bundle firewood to get you started. You are welcome to bring more of your own. To inquire about purchasing additional firewood during your stay, please visit with the Camp Host or from the Lake Cunningham staff on site for $8-10 per bundle (cash).
Q: Is there a grilling/cooking area? Or would it be beneficial to bring a travel grill with us?
A: Your glampsite does have a fire ring with a grate for your use. Fires and coals must be doused and properly disposed of before you leave the site. BBQ grills (charcoal and propane) are allowed and must be a minimum of 24” off the ground. Grills are not allowed on picnic tables.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Your furry family members are welcome in our tents! Just let us know ahead of time. There is a $35.00 Pet Cleaning Fee that is charged for each pet if we are notified ahead of time. (You need to add this when you are making your reservation or we can add it later for you.) Failure to do so will result in a $150.00 fine. Pets shall not be left unattended in any Prairie Fireflies accommodation unless properly crated. The guest is financially responsible for all damage caused by their pets.
Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: There is no smoking allowed in our tents. There will be a $400.00 fee charged if a guest or visitor smokes any substance inside any of our structures.
Q: How do I dispose of trash?
A: Please place all garbage in designated dumpsters located around the park or take it with you when you leave. Please keep your campsite and lake clean by cleaning up litter.
Lake Cunningham FAQs
Q: Is fishing allowed at Lake Cunningham?
A: Catch and release will be heavily promoted at Lake Cunningham in the first few years to allow for the growth of fish and the proper development of fisheries. Since 2020, catfish, white bass, bluegill, largemouth bass and crappie have been stocked in the lake in preparation for the park reopening in 2021. Q: Is swimming permitted at Lake Cunningham?
A: No, there is no recreational swimming allowed for both animals or people at Lake Cunningham.
Q: What are your inclement weather procedures?
A: Lake Cunningham Campground does not offer any type of shelter facilities in the case of severe weather. We ask that campers monitor the weather closely prior to their stay so that they can make necessary arrangements if need be. We do not offer weather related cancellations but are happy to check for alternate dates to move your stay to.
Q: What happens if someone violates park policies?
A: Any person(s) found in violation of any of these rules may be asked to leave the campground and not return for the rest of the season, no refund. Any person(s) caught deliberately/defacing/damaging park facilities/equipment will be removed from and banned from the park, no refund. Any person(s) who damages or causes infractions of campground rules is subject to be fined.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Pets are permitted at Lake Cunningham in the public park and recreation area. We ask that you keep your pet on a leash no longer than 6 feet and clean up after any pet waste. Customers of the campground are allowed a 2 pet maximum.
